The Best Beach Sun Shade

Posted by admin in August 2nd 2010

Sunny days are great for taking a trip to the beach. Umbrellas, hats, and sunscreen are all great way to get protected from the sun, but there are also other alternatives which provide extra functionality and convenience while protecting you from harmful sun rays. A sun tent, also called a beach sun shade, is a good way to protect your body from the sun while still enjoying the great beach weather and sea breeze.

Sun shade canopies and tents are not a well known kind of sun protection as many beach goers only use basic forms of sun blocks. Although there are multiple different kinds of sun tents, the most common one has some resemblance to a normal camping tent. However, a normal tent has a floor, zip door and four walls, while a sun tent only has a maximum of three sides, and perhaps a window and floor. This design helps people to have a chair in the room with a sandy ground while blocking out the strong rays. Sun tents are also coated with ultraviolet ray polyester material that can repel the sun’s rays up to 45spf.

Just like with a boat, car, or any other type of purchasing equipment. The materials, size, and features will play a big role in determining the price and efficiency of your shade. Models that have UV coating will cost extra, and a floor and three walls will also add to the cost. Extra features like extended sun protect, additional supports, heavy duty material will also cost a lot more than a standard shade.

Some advanced models like the Kelty shade can be sold for as high as 200 dollars. These kinds of shades have extensive features like 65 square feet of floor space, adjustable heights, and a thick polyester material that is resistant to ripping. Some of them can also be used in the mountains, or in any other kind of outdoor location. These types are great for outdoor vacations and sports enthusiasts because the material is strong enough to last in almost any condition.

A adequately featured and reasonably priced sun shade can be found in many locations. Although you may not be able to find them in metropolitan areas, almost any tourist location with a nice beach will have them selling for decent prices. If you want a specially designed shade, then you may need to look online. Retailers like REI and Eddie bower have to quality beach equipment selling for less than one hundred dollars. Online sites will also provide you with a much larger variety so you can find the styles that suites you best. Although some may be priced for as low as 50 dollars, generally these models are made with low quality materials and should be avoided.
