Information On Epoxy Garage Floor Coatings

Posted by admin in May 5th 2010

An epoxy garage floor coating have become a very popular product to use not only in the garage. This floor coating can also be used in laundry rooms, basements, showrooms, restaurants and more. The process is very easy to do when applying. Only four simple steps are needed to have your floor looking fabulous. The special coating applied allows the floor to resist oil, dirt, water, grease and other chemicals.

There are some things to do before you apply this paint. Make sure the floor has no moisture. Also, make sure there is no cement sealer, as paint will not stick. There are products on the market, which will allow you to perform moisture and cement sealer checks. Once these checks are done, you can then go ahead and apply the basecoat. After the basecoat is dry, you can then apply the topcoat. Make sure to roll it out evenly and thoroughly.

Some rules to follow before starting this project. Do not apply this concrete garage paint if it is less than 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Let the area dry naturally, so do not use a heater or fan to help speed up the process. You can use this on wood; you will just need about two basecoats before putting the top coat on.

This product is a great alternative to expensive carpet, ceramic tile or linoleum. You can also do this yourself and do not have to spend extra money having flooring installed. Even if you change your mind later and want carpet or tile, there is no extra cost in taking up the old to lay down the new since there is just paint. There are so many different colors to choose from that you will definitely be able to find one that matches your decor. You can purchase this online or most local home improvement stores now carry this in stock.
