Gas Fires vs. Electric Fires

Posted by admin in March 3rd 2011

There’s a possibility that you will face a dilemma when choosing the right fireplace that you will install in your living room. There are electric fires in one end and gas fires on the other. If you want to find the best, you have to consider several aspects of these two differing fireplaces. One common feature of these two is that they can be used even if the house does not have a chimney or flue. That’s why consumers who own houses with no chimneys or flues may choose between these two.

Gas fires are preferred by many over electric fires because of the many advantages one can reap if you choose the former. For one, gas fires are safe because they have a catalytic converter that can convert poisonous gases produced by the fire, including carbon monoxide.

Another edge of gas fires is their efficiency. In fact, these have been found to be 100% efficient and they burn less fuel. Also, they are cheaper to run compared to electric fires as the former only consume 2.6 kilowatt of gas every hour. Additionally, they are available in various types and styles to ensure that they answer the specific needs of homeowners.

Take for example, if the house has a limited floor space, the homeowner can choose a hanging gas fire. Furthermore, it is so easy to install that you can do it yourself and you don’t need to hire an expert for the job, thus saving you money. These also give out more heat compared to electric fires, so buying one can offer you many benefits that the price will no longer be an issue.

Meanwhile, lynx grills are considered to be superior over other barbecue grills. This line of thinking has been proven further by the chefs’ preference of these grills over others. The reason for the grills’ following is their reliability because they are known to make the food tastes better.

The heat stabilizer feature of these grills can contribute to even cooking of foods as it can ensure the proper distribution of heat despite the wind. The only downside of lynx grills is the price, because these are more expensive than other grills. Despite the price, buying one of these is a smart decision especially if you know that you will be using these for years if you take good care of the grills.
