Finding and Buying Discount Tiles

Posted by David Armstrong in January 16th 2010

One of the big problems with decorating a kitchen or bathroom is the high cost of buying the tiles. However, it is possible to find a discount tile if you know where to look! In this article, you’ll find some ideas for getting discount tiles, whether you want to get a discount floor tile or wall tile.

To begin with, you should keep an eye out for local sales when looking for discount tile flooring. You’ll be surprised at how often local bathroom or kitchen stores run sales where you can save a large percentage of the original price; so it often pays to wait for these. Make sure you know which type of tile you’re looking for before you start your search for bargains; otherwise it will be difficult to know where to look. For example, if you’re looking for a discount porcelain tile, then you need to know what the original price was to be able to spot a good deal.

You should also never buy a bathroom or kitchen tile from a company that’s going to install it for you. In most cases, they’ll add on extra cost to the retail price of the tiles in order to make more money from you, so always buy the tiles separately. For example, if you’re looking for a discount granite tile then buying from an installation company will often cost you more than if you just bought the tile at its retail value!

The internet is a great place to start looking for discount tiles. For example, if you type into a popular search engine “discount ceramic tile” or “discount carpet tiles” you’ll find plenty of places that offer them. However, you still need to know what the normal price is so you can tell whether you’re getting a good deal or not.

If you only need a small amount of discount carpet tiles to cover a patch of the room, then you could always ask in local shops if they have any small spare pieces. If they do, they’re likely to give them to you at a great price.

Remember, while finding a discount floor tile can be a great way of getting a good deal. you still need to make sure it’s the right tile for your room. Don’t be persuaded by the cheap price if it isn’t the type of tile you want or it isn’t the right style for your house, as you’ll only regret the decision at a later date.
