Add Value To Your Home By Building A Quality Conservatory.

Posted by admin in December 8th 2009

I am building a new conservatory onto my home.  It is not that I really want one, or need one, but I do want to sell my home.  You may wonder why I am building a conservatory in order to sell my home, so let me tell you about my near neighbours and how they sold their home.

We live in a nice residential area, not too many houses and with the local school and stores only a short trip from our front door. Given our desirable location, one would think that we would not have too much trouble selling our home.  However, in the present economic climate, it is hard to sell any house and there are several in our area that have had ‘For Sale’ boards on them for some time now, with no success.

Except for the Salinas family that is.  Frank and Grace Salinas decided to sell their home and within a week of putting the house on the market they had an acceptable offer.  Their secret?  They had a conservatory (or solarium), built on to the back of their house last year and Frank told me that every viewer of their home was impressed by the conservatory and the successful bidder told the Frank and Grace that the reason he bought it was because he loved conservatories so much.

There is no doubt that it is a very well built conservatory that Frank and Grace planned out thoroughly before they built it.  They put a lot of thought into the insulation and having good insulation helped give a better energy rating to the whole house.

There are 3 doors leading to and from the conservatory and that gives a nice open feel to the room without having so many doors to and from the room that it becomes a passageway.  They also have lovely décor in the conservatory.  Frank and Grace loved plants and so they had a tiled floor in order that they could water the plants a lot in the summer without damaging a timber floor.  The new owner has plenty of plants in the conservatory also.

So now you know why I am building a conservatory onto my home in order to sell it.  I got a lot of good tips from http://conservatories-for-all.com.   If Frank and Grace can do it, so can I.  Frank’s parting words to me when they left for sunnier climes last week was – before you start to build, plan out exactly what you want to end up with.  Good advice.
