A Garage Heater to Keep You Warm While You Work

Posted by David Armstrong in December 8th 2009

If you spend a lot of time in your garage you may want to install a garage heater.  It is very safe to install and use garage heaters in large garages or a large workspace.  Most of the garage space heaters on the market today are designed and meant to be used in one car garages.   The best choice in a heater for a one car garage is the electric garage heaters so you don’t have to worry about putting in ventilation in order to keep from inhaling any gas fumes or the additional cost of natural gas or propane gas.

The electric garage heater is also the more efficient heater to use because electric heat created by one hundred percent use of electricity that is turned into heat and it doesn’t give off any by products the way the gas fueled heaters do.  Keep in mind that not all heaters are the same and there are more than electric heaters that can be used as a method to heating the garage or workspace.  Other types of heaters include natural gas garage heater, radiant garage heaters and infrared heaters.  There is also another type of heaters that is a water force heater call modine garage heaters.

Radiant garage heaters or an infrared garage heater that will warm the air in the whole garage while others can be used to heat a specific area of the workspace or garage.  These type of heaters are portable and give off quick instant heat.  These heaters usually heat up quickly and cool down slowly.

Last but not least another type of heater is a natural gas garage heater.  It may cost a little more to run this type of heater but with natural gas garage heaters it is much easier to control the temperature because it is controlled by the thermostat on the heater.

As stated before it is important to remember that when using a garage gas heater to heat your garage or workspace you have to install proper ventilation in order to keep from being overtaken by the fumes.  It is also important to note that this type of heater also gives off a byproduct called fossil fumes and is not very safe for the environment.  Therefore, when choosing a type of heater you have to keep in mind the size and ventilation of the room you plan to heat with it.
